The purpose of the Motor Vehicle Operator Course is to train new Marines in the basics of operating motor transport equipment, preventative maintenance checks and services (PMCS), cargo loading, emergency procedures, ground guiding procedures, and operating a load handling system (LHS) on various types of equipment ranging from 2 1/4 tons to 27 tons. If you went the Operator route, you’ll attend 6 weeks of Motor Vehicle Training at Army Base Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. In the Marines, the minimum height for motor vehicle operation is 64 inches, and the maximum is 75 inches and applicants must have normal color vision. Government motor vehicle operator’s identification card for the M-Series 7-ton vehicle. Your past driving record will be subject to a search under the National Driver Register, and they will need a U.S. Once you’ve completed and passed the ASVAB, graduated Marine Corps Basic Training, and completed Marine Combat Training (MCT), you will now be ready to attend Motor T school. You must possess a Mechanical Maintenance (MM) score of 85 or higher. To work in the Motor Transport Field you must take and pass the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB). If you are considering Motor T as a career path in the Marine Corps here are things to consider. Marine Corps Motor T is an exciting MOS within the Marine Corps and one that comes with many responsibilities. So, when you hear someone say they were a Motor T Marine, they were either an operator or a mechanic. The Motor Transportation field (OccFld 35) includes both the Operations and the Maintenance functions. Each of these related jobs is classified under different Occupational Fields (OccFlds). In the Marine Corps, there are many jobs or Military Occupational Specialties (MOS) that you can choose from. Upon completion of the course, Officers are qualified to work in the MOS as Air Delivery Officers (MOS 0405).Check Out The FOR THE CORPS YouTube Channel! It is six weeks in length and is designed to give Officers a working knowledge of the MOS. The course is ten training days.ĪERIAL DELIVERY MATERIAL OFFICERS COURSE (ADMOC) - This course is an MOS qualifying course for Officers. Instruction is provided in administration, logistical, and operational and maintenance management. This course is five trainings days long.ĬAREER LEVEL AIRBORNE AND AIR DELIVERY SPECIALIST COURSE – This course is designed for Corporals through Staff Sergeants to prepare the Marines to perform the duties as Paraloft Chiefs. Upon successful completion of this course, students are certified to conduct joint inspections and certify loads for airdrop. These courses are not required to obtain the basic 0451 MOS, but are required to perform special duties within the 0451 field:ĪIRLOAD INSPECTOR COURSE (ALIC) - The ALIC course instructs students in the proper way to conduct joint inspections of loads rigged for airdrop. SPECIAL COURSES - The following courses are advanced courses. Upon successful completion of all three phases, students are awarded the MOS of 0451. PHASE III: Multi-Mission Parachute System (MMPS), the students learn to pack the Multi-Mission Parachute System. The AER portion of Phase II is 13 training days. Students must learn and show proficiency on five different sewing machines. AERIAL EQUIPMENT REPAIR BRANCH (AER), the students learn to repair parachutes and various types of airdrop equipment. The PACK portion of Phase II is 18 training days. Phase II: PACK BRANCH (PACK), the students learn to pack personnel and light cargo parachutes. PHASE I: AERIAL DELIVERY BRANCH (AD), the students learn to pack heavy cargo parachutes, rig loads for airdrop, and learn to maintain and service airdrop equipment associated with cargo airdrops. The course is taught in three phases and lasts a total of 12 weeks and 2 days.
